Hello Frank, We just want you to know that we are so very pleased that we wound up purchasing the 40’ Nordhavn, Done Dreamin. Prior to seeing the Nordhavn and after several months of searching we had decided to buy a boat built by a different manufacturer. But now we know the Nordhavn was the right choice. Our purchase would not have happened if it were not for your input. We understood that your job was to sell the boat but everything you said was accurate, true, and correct. I know we were a bit difficult to convince but you went above and beyond what anyone would have expected on either side of the transaction, buyer or seller. We have no intention of selling our boat anytime soon, however Frank, you are a real professional and when the time comes we will look you up. We have first-hand extensive knowledge of Nordhavn trawlers. Our founder, Frank Durksen Sr., saw his first Nordhavn 46 when it stopped at an Anacortes fuel dock on its way to Alaska in 1992. It was truly "love at first sight." He had never seen another boat like it before. Beautiful yet seaworthy, and perfect in every way. "I remember thinking, this is what all boats should look like" said Frank.  Soon after that, Frank became the owner of his own Nordhavn 46' "Hermanita" (1991 #26 a rare twin engine flybridge model now named "Tenacity").  In the years that followed Frank became the unofficial "Northwest Representative" for Nordhavn selling a number of the new boats he had come to love.

 

On building "First Forty": 
When Frank Durksen sr. heard that PAE was designing the Nordhavn 40' he wanted to be the very first owner. Going through the building process in 1999 of his "First Forty," allowed Frank to gain unprecedented knowledge on all phases of the build, from the original tank testing, plug cutting, mold making  through construction, launching, commissioning, and finally enjoying Nordhavn 40 #1. "First Forty" was launched December 24, 1999.

By personally experiencing Nordhavn construction from start to finish, owning Nordhavns, and having sold many used Nordhavns, we KNOW the quality, craftsmanship, and capabilities of these fine trawlers.
