This early spring show got off to a blustery start, with some excitement as all the brokers brought in their boats for the line-up!  Saturday and Sunday were not bad weather-wise, with some sales taking place and many good showings.   We were doing showings on: 43' Eastbay SX, 38' Eastbay, 40' Legacy, 42' Nordic Tug 2008, 47' Bayliner 4788, 57' Cooper Pilothouse, 40' Nordhavn Trawler and 57' Nordhavn Trawler.

Jim Crouch is a lifelong boater with a love of the water that goes back to his childhood.  He was born into a boating family in Seattle, and has owned over 15 boats himself.  His current vessel is a classic canoe-stern Scottish wooden trawler that he has meticulously & lovingly restored.
 
In 2006 Jim retired from the luxury automobile business, and joined the team at AAA Yacht Finders, who specialized in high-end passagemaking trawler yachts such as Nordhavn, Krogen, Grand Banks and expedition yachts, as well as luxury yachts such as Northern Marine.  It was a natural fit for him, and Jim is often heard to say, "What could be better than spending your days talking to boaters about boats?"

What Jim enjoys most these days is to introduce others to his life-long passion.  He has an eye for quality vessels and a good listening ear to discern your goals and interests.   One of his  most interesting yacht sales was a 55' Rozema Aluminum Trawler - a rugged commercial exterior with a surprisingly elegant yacht-quality interior finish.  It was purchased by a fish export/wholesale family in Alaska, and Jim thinks it is the perfect match!

TUMBILI, a 47’ Nordhavn Pilothouse Trawler, with owners Susan & John onboard, went to Isla Mujeres, Mexico, a beautiful island off the coast of the Yucatan, near Cancun.  They fell in love with the island and purchased the third largest marina on the island, Marina Paraiso.  The marina has now been renamed "Paraiso Club De Yates" and is being completely remodeled.  Thus, Paraiso Club De Yates has become Tumbili's new Mexican home. 

AAA Yacht Finders International has teamed up with James Knight, Nordhavn Service Specialist and Owner of Yacht Tech, to form AAA Yacht Finders Florida. During the past 9 years, James has worked on over a hundred Nordhavn Trawlers from 35' to 76.' More recently, Yacht Tech has specialized in refit work on older Nordhavn hulls in preparation for ocean voyages.

James was the employed as Commissioning Manager by PAE(Pacific Asian Enterprises) back in 2003, and involved in the Nordhavn Atlantic Rally (NAR) by preparing vessels for departure on a historical Trans Atlantic Passage. James was later retained in 2007 by the "Med Bound" rally.  Since then, the organizer Milt Baker wrote:

"One key reason for the lack of problems was Med Bound's seminars and inspections...each Med Bound yacht was meticulously inspected by Nordhavn expert, James Knight of Yacht Tech."

James is already well known in the Nordhavn community for his dedication to servicing these capable passage makers. When it comes to troubleshooting and servicing the Nordhavn fleet, James' extensive experience will be of great benefit to the AAA Yacht Finders International team and clients.
